India’s Car Market Gains Momentum as Buyers Review Financing Options

India’s passenger vehicle market is showing strong momentum in 2026, creating renewed interest among consumers planning to purchase new cars. According to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), passenger vehicle sales reached 4,39,309 units in August 2026, registering 36.5% growth compared with August 2025. SIAM also described the August performance as the highest-ever August sales for passenger vehicles.

The positive market trend comes as consumers continue to consider financing options for vehicle purchases. With car prices, insurance, maintenance and other ownership expenses forming part of the overall budget, understanding loan costs has become an important step before buying.

For prospective buyers, factors such as loan amount, interest rate, EMI, repayment tenure, credit profile and additional charges can influence the overall financing experience. Comparing available loan options and checking the repayment structure beforehand can help borrowers plan their monthly finances more effectively.

As festive-season demand approaches, SIAM expects continued healthy demand, supported by consumer confidence and improving financing conditions.
